Engine Cover Carpet Faded - Fix
5 Attachment(s)
Thought I share some pic's of my faded engine cover carpet.
I have black engine cover carpet that was faded from the sun. It had turned silver from the exposure. Brushing the carpet with you hand would produce fine silver carpet dust particles.. Vacuumed it well before painting. I used Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric paint to fix my faded carpet. I use windshield shades in my back window when I park as well as my front window. After redoing my carpet I did not want to deal with the fade. Nice job on your work!

Did the same. But the carpets are not soft like before. I combed them with a nice plastic brush. Seem better now.

Pretty cool idea! Did not know you could use a rattle can to fix your carpet…..wonder if it works for rental property? My garage has saved the carpet so far, but driving it everyday, it will need it at some point.
Thanks for the tip Tony! |

My goal was just to get it back to Black.. That faded silver did match the car color somewhat, but looked bad.. I'm happy with the results.. Thanks T |
Nice chrome wheels....:)

You could have some black RIT dye and sprayed it on or soak it a tub of it.
