My only break was to advanced auto for some angled 11" needle nose. Beer time I feel is now.

Honestly it was probably quicker than that. It was a pain but not rocket science.
Some 10mm nuts/bolts that hold the tank in place.
I split the oil filler tube in the engine bay
I pulled the engine harness rubber away from the rear wall and used angled needle nose
It was a pain but it went quick
Tools used
Makita impact driver 10mm bit
11" needle nose
Standard pliers
drop light

That is impressive. My baptism in Boxster mech was the tank, took me a good 6 hours with the cable operated clamp tool.

I want to slap the engineer that came up with the placement of that tank in the back of the head. It had to be the same person who put the fuel filter in the tunnel!
Now you can rest for the next 10 years knowing it won't leak!

JAAY, when you say you split the oil filler tube in the engine bay, you mean you destroyed it? Or did you disconnect it? Was that difficult? From the top of the engine bay or below?
Also, I was thinking about pulling out that rubber grommet too. So you essentially did that and just reached in with your angled needle nose? Would this still work if the hose clamps happened to be facing the other way?
I need to replace my tank, and absolutely dreading it from everything I have read about it.

Where is the best place to purchase the replacement part? Any additional items recommended?
