Electric window not working after freezing weather.

I've had a problem with my 986 drivers window after the big-freeze in the UK & Ireland last week. I had been keeping my car under cover in the cold weather and I was also careful to de-iced the doors with luke-warm water before attempting to open the car each day. One day, last week, after driving for about 20 mins, I attempted to put the window down when I heard a loud clicking sound. The window did down but it would not go back up the full way and I kept hearing the clicking. It eventually did go back up fully but now it doesn't move up or down (nor does it drop when I open the door handle). When I press the window button, I can hear the window motor but the window now does not move.

Does anybody have a diagram which details the components involved in the window operation? I have not attempted to remove the door panel yet. My guess is that some part broke when frozen. i don't believe the motor to be broken as I can still hear it when I press the window button inside.

Any ideas?

Colin
