Broken dip stick tube

How do I repair / replace a broken dip stick tube. A section is broken above the starter. The section broken is towards the rear of the car, just before a coupling.
I have black tape on it right now.

You have to replace the complete tube.
It's fairly easy to do.
The new one snaps in place.
You should get it replaced or the CEL will come on.

I'm not familar with "targon tubing"? What is it and where can I get a small piece if I need it? Was the 1/2" the ID of the tube?

I had planned to use some tubing that we had a work.. and a couple of hose clamps. Right now the car is stored and I'm not in a hurry to open up the engine compartment again. And of course I forgot to measure the dip stick tube OD.

Thanks for whatever help you can offer.

Completed the fix. Bought clear 3/8"ID tube x 1/2" OD from Home Depot. I took the broken piece of tube with me and made sure I could insert it into the tube. I used some motor oil to lube the ID. I also ran hot water over the tube to soften it up.... my garage is cold. A little pushing and cussing and a couple of hose clamps and the tube is fixed.

What is the best access point to get to the area to repair the dipstick?

I removed the right rear wheel to gain access, could not see where the leak is originating, so I then looked in from on top, still couldn't see.. my next move is to look from under the vehicle..

Frustrated on lost time.

Tygon, not Targon.

Electrical tape should last forever as a permanent fix so long as you wipe all the dust and grit before you apply the tape.

I wanted to post the info here since I have done this replacement and its so easy to do. I found the part on ebay for cheap. The end of the piece has two yellow buttons that need to be pressed in to release the piece from its clamp. Press them in and pull out the broken dip stick. Put the new piece in and press the yellow tabs while pushing down on the oil dipstick to seat it.

For those of you who are repairing your hose, make sure you are not changing the length of the hose as that will affect the measurement of the dipstick.

I used 1/4 in fuel line, twice. One day I will replace that tube (or at this point, all 3 of them), right after I do a whole bunch of other stuff.
