Replacing Interior Carpet

Got a leak and a saturated carpet. Weird tar-like stains behind driver's seat too means it's time to install a new carpet system.

Anyone have a good DIY'er or know where to find one before I start pulling out screws?

I've never looked into it, but while I was in my local Porsche shop a couple weeks ago I was looking at a boxster that had basically the same thing happen to. They had just finished putting new carpet in it and allthough it didn't look like it would be a bad job, they said it was a major PITA. Best of luck and keep us posted on how it goes though.

I haven't, but am interested in how much it costs and diy instructions too. My carpet has seen better days.

It indeed is a major pain in the ass. I just did this over the winter and am finally complete. I am very happy with it though. My recommendation is to cut the floor piece in half so that there is a right side and a left side. By doing this you wont have to remove the shifter cables etc. I just slipped the left and right side in and than I bolted back the rear center console which hides the seams.
