broken link

I was crawling around under my new-to-me 2001 Boxster S (seal grey with 18" Classics) this weekend and found this unattached link in the driver side rear wheel well. Can someone tell me what it is and where it should attach? A part # to fix it would be great too. Options for the mounting location are limited due to its range but am guessing it is a broken plastic link to the shock housing and the other piece is long gone. The car has factory litronics, is it a sensor for the headlight angle?
Tx,
Scott
