No sound from Becker....Help!!

My car has the CDR-22 head unit and Sound Package. I have just tried to replace the CDR-22 with a Becker Traffic Pro 4720. The two head units should be pin-for-pin plug compatible (with the obvious exception of the GPS antenna input).
Having swapped the head units, the navigation functions work, the CD changer works, the radio picks up stations....BUT I’m getting no sound! Any ideas? It’s not being muted by the phone input and it doesn’t appear to have a Mute function (unlike the CDR-22).
Before I try and set it up on the bench, am I missing something obvious?

Many thanks

Sounds like you don't power the speakers (or the amp). Are you sure that the "power amp" leads are at the same position for both units? You could check your fuses too, but it doesn't sound as a blown fuse (since you get power to the source unit). If you swap back your old unit everything works right?

Thanks George. Yes, the original works fine and the power amp does seem to be getting power with the 4720.
I suppose it's looking like a fault in the preamp output of the 4720 - bought on eBay a week ago, so maybe a dispute is imminent!

I bet the front panel is misaligned, that, or the contacts are dirty/corroded. The Panel contains all the controls for the unit and communicates them electronically to the HU via these contacts.

Pull the panel, clean the contacts and replace, aligning it properly. If still struggling, try here: http://www.beckerautosound.com/traffic_pro/index.html

I checked that. Again, everything on the panel is fully functioning - all NAV functions, all CD functions and all radio functions. It's looking like there is nothing on SKT A pin 5 (control output for the amp), there is an output on the speaker pins (Skt B pins 1 - 8), so I guess the previous owner of the radio was oblivious to the fault.
Thanks again

I think I've tracked it down to one difference between the radios.

On the CDR22 Pin 6 on C1 is shown as unassigned. By following the wiring of the car, the Sound Pack amp gets its +12v from this pin.

On the BE4720 Pin 6 on C1 is the line out for the subwoofer.

So I'll need to disconnect the wire from C1 pin 6 and find a switched 12v feed for it. This must have been encountered before with Becker Traffic pro installs, does anyone have a link on here or on Renntech that might cover it?

Thanks

I guess I should have spent yesterday surfing Renntech instead of trying to fit the Traffic Pro!
The need to jumper those two pins is well documented:

Now I just need to be patient until I get home and try it!
