Painted vs vinyl film for center console.

Has anybody seen the vinyl film that adheres to console to make it look painted? It can supposedlly be removed if you don't like it and comes in various colors. I've painted part of my interior and am thinking about trying the film.

Do it and tell us how it comes out. Get carbon fiber style, lol.

It depends, with the curves of the boxster console it mighht turn out like :barf:
But you never know until you try, let us know how it turns out. :D

well, I did the door compartment covers and they look great. I did them in gloss black. It was a lot easier and more forgiving than I thought it would be. Next I will try the center console. I'll post pix when done. The covers look like they have a good paint job.

Awesome, glad it turned out well. I hate when things blow up in your face.

New and interested

I'm a new Porsche owner and the car I have has some of the interior painted and I would like to give the vinyl film a try. Can any one tell me where I can find the vinyl I need?

In advance, thanks

So how did you apply it? Did you use a hair dryer on it to get it to stretch? Any noticeable creases when folding it under the edges? Do tell. :)
