how do you remove door compartment covers?

I would like to paint the covers to the door storage compartments. How on earth do you remove them. Any ideas?

It's actually quite simple. All you need to do is lift the door bin lid to the up position, and then you'll see two hinges (front and rear). Use a paper clip or hole punch to push out the plastic pin in the hinges, and then pull them out with needle nosed pliers. The rear hinge also has a spring which you can carefully remove before releasing the lid covers. That's it. Good luck.

Thank you!!

Thank you very much for your help! It worked like a charm. Looking at your signature, I see that your console and bumprettes are painted also. What kind of paint did you use for the interior? How about for the bumprettes?
I got some silver paint which I thought would be the same as the door pulls, but turned out it wasn't. I have a black car, and the bumprettes are that nasty dull rubber.

Thanks again,

Richard Griffin

Unfortunately, not being very handy with paintwork, I had to buy all of my painted pieces for my car. Glad the removal of the door lid covers worked out for you.
