Bleeding the Clutch?

Hello, does anyone have a guide to bleed the clutch on a 2001 Boxster? My clutch lets out a little before halfway through the travel but it just doesn't really grab hard. Also how hard is it to install a lightweight flywheel, or how much would a shop charge to do it? Thanks!!!!

Gosh that D.I.Y. brings up old nightmares! I went to bleed the clutch only to find that the valve was PLASTIC and it had already been STRIPPED! Oh man getting the new Slave Cylinder in there was a b1tch,then having to re-bleed the entire system.

You shouldn't have that issue though,you should have a metal valve.

It is a challenge to get to the nipple on a Boxster unless you have a rubber arm.

I have bled the clutch on a few Boxsters. They all had metal nipples. On some cars the nipple is 9 mm and on others it is 11 mm. I take the LR wheel off.

I crack open the nipple with a wrench. Sometimes I use a socket on the end of a ratchet wrench. Then close the nipple with my fingers. Put the tube on the nipple. Hook up the motive and pump it. Then I open the nipple with my fingers. When enough fluid has come out of the tube I close the nipple with my fingers then remove the motive. Then remove the tube and tighten the nipple with a wrench.

I usually do the clutch when doing the calipers. Do RR caliper. Then LR caliper and clutch, since you already have the wheel off. Then RF caliper. Then finish with the LF caliper.

Do you know why Porsche would come out with two different types of nipples?

My 99' with a build date of 03/99 had a plastic one marked all sorts of VW,AUDI stuff and a PPA-GF but no Porsche part no. and so did my SACHS replacement.
