Hook me up, too, if you don't mind. I'm also in the Chicago area looking to buy my first Boxster. I don't mind driving a bit for it.

Check out www.isringhausen.com. I bought mine from them when I was stationed in Korea. I am in no way affiliated with these guys, but they are a VERY reputable company in Springfield, IL. They have new/used Boxes and will give you a fair price.

I've driven by Isringhausen and looked at some cars outside but the showroom was closed It looks like a nice place. I ended up getting mine at Tom Woods over in Indy. They have a nice selection of Porsches to chose from. The initial buying experience was good but I haven't been back since Sept 03 because it is 2 hours away and I haven't needed any warranty work done. They seem competent and professional though and I will probably take it there for major work down the road.

That's funny because when I went looking at their Franklin Park location, we got off to a real bad start.
Florida car, I would have been the 3rd owner. 99 with 39k miles. When they brought me back to the garage to look at it, it was on a battery booster and they sent someone to go get gas for it.
I noticed there was no gas cap. I watched in horror as they ripped off the gas cap from another boxster to put it on this one.
Kind of ruined my day.

Wow, that sucks. If I would have seen that at the Downers Grove lot I would have just walked away.
I bought my Box at the DG Luxury motors less than a month ago and I was relatively pleased with the service. I even received via UPS all of the original manuals, cards, and even the extra key and the valet key for my car. I had resigned myself to having 1 key even after all the advice I'd seen about getting the dealer to make you another one when you buy the car.
So, they had quite a few Boxsters at the DG lot so if you're still looking you might want to head on over there.

I've got a 2001 Artic Silver/Blue Boxster S - Porsche Certified with 27k miles thats immaculate. Purchased from Napleton Porsche. I'm in Morton, IL. The warranty has 1.5 years left on it.
Feel free to email me with any interest as I'm willing to work with any buyer. The only modification made to the car is a DVD/touchscreen Sirrius headunit that I had installed for Navigation and entertainment (its good to watch a movie in the country with your top down).
