Just ran VIN thru option decoder. In addition to having TPMS, it's a LAUNCH VEHICLE! Hadn't run across a black one before. Had a silver CS Launch Vehicle a cpl yrs ago.

Nice Caymen S at a nice price. I'm surprised it has sold yet. In my neck of the woods these sell for $24K to $27K

New lowered price - $20,900

I'm helping a friend sell his Cayman S. He's motivated to sell (he bought a boat & GF says a toy must go).
I've had a bunch of jack wagons offer $18, even after I tell them what bottom dollar is. One today offered $18.5. I said I had 3 guys interested in it today after I lowered the price and asked if he wanted to lose it for the difference. His response was he only had $18.5. Well, then look at cars that are selling for $18.5. SMH.

Husker,

Please forgive me but if "his GF says that a toy must go", for sure he would be miserable if he ever marries that woman...

Now, if you mentioned that "his wife says..." then it's a different story ..LOL

.

SOLD

Owner is taking it to a dealer on Mon if there are no leads this weekend. I'd much prefer it go to an enthusiast.

$19,900

Gilles - I agree, but the owner is 70 so he should know what he's doing.

Agree. I would actually rewrite the ad to "GF must go" . "Woman = bad, Porsche = good."
:D

I'm not sure if what I was told by my friend was the real story. He made it sound like she was the one who wanted it gone. He was out of town on business when the buyer flew in from CO Thu to pick up the car. I picked the buyer up at the airport, took him to her bank where she met us with the CS, he took it for a test drive, stopped at his bank to pull a cashier's check, and then we went back to her bank to seal the deal. After that I took her back to her work and on the way she said she had seller's remorse when she heard I had it sold but maybe I could find them something else (?). She asked me if Punkin was for sale. I said noooo. When I dropped her off at her work, she asked me what my commission was that I had worked out with my friend. I told her and she said no. I wasn't sure what that meant until she handed me a check for double the amount. She said I worked too hard for the original figure. Being unemployed, those extra $$$ come in handy, esp with a $600 health ins bill looming every mo.

She sounds like a keeper to me. ;)

All in all a great deal for all parties!

I used to get the itch to get a new (or newer) car after 4 yrs. On NYE this yr, it will be 10 yrs since I bought her. Not a record for ownership for me (79 Mustang Pace car for 34 yrs), but easily 2nd place. It will be 5 yrs in Dec since I bought my CSS. No plans to sell her either. The salesman at Porsche of Omaha who covets my CSS is now doing Alfa sales, so it will be easier to tell him no when he offers me a killer trade-in allowance. In the past, he's offered me straight up trades - my 2 cars for a 991, a Cayman GTS, or a Boxster GTS. All good deals for me, but I like my 2 cars.

So there were the right amount of O's in my reply.

A guy on P-9 is looking for a Cayman S Sport, so I was doing some searches for him (mine is not for sale). Happened across this ad:

https://www.porscheofcoloradosprings.com/2006-porsche-cayman-s-c-1929.htm

It's the CS I sold 2 mos ago. Guess the buyer works for Porsche of Co Sprgs. They did a bunch of maintenance and added $9K to the purchase price. Good for them, hope they make a nice profit. I tried to talk the owner into buying the maintenance items (would have been <$500) and I would have put them on for free. Thought we could have gotten at least another $1-2K on our asking price but he didn't want to do it. He just wanted to keep dropping the price.

I sent him a link to the car. He said NOT to show that to GF. If I didn't have the 911 to sell, his selling price was getting so low I thought about buying it myself, but can't afford too many high $$$ vehicles in the Wheeler Dealer inventory.

Going to send to a friend. It's perfect black/black with manual combo he wants. Up to 25k is a good price for it imo. But the cheaper the better.
