Thinking of a 2014/2015 Boxster

So I am a long time BMW and Lexus owner that is seriously considering a gently used, low mileage 2014 or 2015 Boxster or Boxster S and would like your opinions to educate me on this car. I had a 2002 Lexus Sc430 convertible that I enjoyed and pampered for 14 years until recently selling it.

I love the look of the Boxster and would not mind "upping my game" when it comes to performance HOWEVER, I am not looking for a race car and a ride I feel every pebble I run over. I'd like a reasonable balance.

So I'm thinking Boxster or Boxster S, 2014-2015 vintage, low miles.

So my questions are:

1) Is there a significant difference between the 2014 and 2015 that I need to consider?

2). Are there options, that are must have to ensure a smoother ride vs a performance ride? I will be getting the PDK automatic Transmission. Things like 19 inch vs 20 inch wheels?? PASM?? Other thoughts?

3). How is cabin noise with the soft top up? Any difference between 2014-15?

4). How is noise and wind with top down?

5). Any other options to look for that this car should have??

Your thoughts and insight much appreciated!

Think this thread would get more attn. in the General Discussion section rather than the Classifieds.

Also, there are Boxster owners here with all generations of Boxsters, but this forum is mainly for the 1st generation Boxster (986 from 1997-2004). Planet-9.com has a specific 981 section (the factory designation for the latest generation Boxster) that will have conversation esp for 981 folks.

Good luck with your decision. Think you'll enjoy "upping your game" to a Boxster.

Just go to the Scottsdale Porsche dealer or the brand new Chandler Porsche dealer, one of two new dealers in the last 10 years in the US (they are eager to please) and test drive one. I know the Chandler dealer have a couple lightly used Boxsters on the lot right now.

As stated in your other thread, this forum is for owners of the 986. Not many (if any) own a 981 as that's two generations newer. Get a certified pre owned car with a full pre purchase inspection. Owning an out of warranty car is much less fun than one that's in warranty.
