I have an 03 Boxster with new Hankook RS3s on it for sale. I think I seized the motor. I'm sending it to mech tomorrow. I live in Whittier CA if anyone wants to check it out. Tranny was good and there were no issues with it prior to motor seizing. Asking 4,500 Thanks

These are old cars. It happens.

Hello everyone. I was exiting a corner and the engine stalled out. It wasnt loud like I thought a seize would be. I costed off the track and towed it home. Ill take it to a nech to determine for sure what the problem is soon. Other than that, it was amazing on the track as far as handling. It makes my M feel sloppy.

When these cars are taken to the track ...

... on high-traction tires without an Accusump and/or a deep sump and/or with another type of forced lubrication, they tend to have oil starvation issues and generally fail by seizing piston rod number 6 which is the farthest one out.

Been there, done that.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Thanks. I think that is what happened. I thought it would only happen with full R compounds. I guess I was wrong. Amazing handling cars though. I'm more bummed out that I won't be able to hit the track and continue to grow as a driver. 😧

Did you get a full diagnosis?
Pull the front engine cover off, take the belt off
And see if the crank will turn

It's possible it was an accessory that gave out or a pulley.

Also easy enough to drop the oil filter and inspect

Thanks, I took it to a shop and they charged me $180 and I don't think they did any of that. I'm pretty mechanically uninclined :(

How much for hood, headlights, bumper, driver side fender

I saw a story on the Flatsix FB page where someone's seized motor was inspected and fixed by Jake in 15 mins. If I recall correctly, it was an alternator failure, maybe you should check that.
