Hmmmm, they are out there but for 25k you could find a nice 3.4L 987.

Being mostly a "track rat" I understand, but a 987 S doesn't need much to be a formidable track day hero car. Tires, suspension, safety gear, and reliability mods to be clear. After playing this game for 10 years I have very specific wants for very specific purposes. "A few track oriented mods" might get you a pro set up car or a badly hacked POS that turns slower laps than stock. It just depends on your goals:

HPDE for kicks and grins

Time Trial competition

Club racing competition

Any organized competition will have a rules set so start there and figure out what the rules are and how to win. Mods determine your competition class and you don't want a modded-out street car that gets classed with GT3 Cup race cars unless you are comfortable running DFL.

Lots of stuff to chew on so welcome to our merry band of gypsies who regularly track our Porsche.
