2000 Boxster S "roller" (no engine) for sale

This car is sold. Trying to figure out how to remove this post: I am selling a 2000 Boxster S that I have used the engine and tranny out of for another Boxster project. Year 2000 Boxster S, merlot red exterior, black interior. This Boxster is pretty much loaded and stock....Xenon headlights with washers, 6 speed manual, cruise control, upgraded factory stereo, heated seats, rollbar and center console painted to match exterior (factory option). About 89,000 miles. The body and paint has some door dings and minor dents, but no major body issues. The seats are in terrible shape, but the rest of the interior is fine. It is in the Denver area, and I do not mind coordinating shipping.

Yes, it was running great before I did the engine swap in the fall. I failed to include in the posting that we used the transmission, too. Sorry about that. It's a 6 speed. Provide me with your e-mail address and I can send pix.

Well, I'll be.....

Hi there,
Just joined the forum, and found this thread while poking around. I think I'm the new owner of your car, MogulErc! Bought it from 3Zero3 Motorsports this week, and am planning an electric conversion that could possibly have 400 HP and 600 ft lbs of torque. We'll see, it's obviously not the cheapest route I could take.

The guys at 3Zero3 told me you're into Spec racing. Are the engine and tranny from this Boxster working out well for you?

Best,
Alex

Hi Alex. What are you planning to put in it? Electric motor? Battery pack? Transmission?

Yes, all three!

I'm waiting for a 6 speed tranny to arrive from Oregon, then I'll start measuring for the rest of the components and begin making the big decisions. I'm leaning towards an 11 inch series wound DC motor, 1000 amp controller, and (hopefully, if I can make them fit) about 60 100Ah LiFePO4 cells for about 192V nominal pack charge. It should be sprightly!

I'm also doing an EV conversion on a 97 Boxster. Curious what you paid for the car?
I have a 9 inch DC motor. You shouldn't need to get the porsche 6 speed,
I learned from this forum that an Audi A4 and Passat transmission also fits, which is what I have..generally don't need anything but reverse and 4th gear.
I'd also say if limited to 1000amps, the 9in motor is plenty and lot less weight.

I'm putting in a large supercapacitor bank, how about 950hp ?
I could use the 11 inch with this!

I think I know what he paid for it. I was serious about getting it myself, but made the decision to buy it a day too late. I was going to do an engine swap of a different type. It went cheap, but it has been sitting around quite a while and needs love. I does have Litronics and some other nice options. It was used one year in the One Lap of America and has Brock Yates' signature on the airbag on the right side of the dash. So, it was rode hard in its day. The sad thing is that the car originally had the rare factory option limited slip diff along with traction control. I knew of it while it was a driving car. The transmission sold cheap and the buyer didn't even know it had the limited slip diff.

Roller

I just blew the engine in my 01 Boxster S this week. Only 65,000 miles, grey, black interior. Excellent condition - stored all winters. Wheels and tires perfect.

Anyone looking for a great roller to rebuild?
