More info...

A lot of calls for a sale outright. If that happens, I'd be looking for around $30,000. Here are some more details.

The car is in excellent condition. There are a few very minor scratches underneath the front bumper and a few very small rock chips on the hood. All of which you have to really get up and close to find, but I want to truly disclose every little detail. You would probably not notice it at all without me bringing it up. All have been touched up with factory touch-up paint. Absolutely nothing else to note.

Good luck selling the car. In this market, I don't think you are going to get anywhere close to your asking price. I'd be surprised if you get more than $20,000 for the car.

Yeah...good luck with sale, but there are 05 S models going for $30k range now. A 10 yr old model won't likely get that.

beautiful car but I wouldnt imagine you would get more than 20Gs (after tax) for it. much less a wakeboard boat. (at least a good one). There is a lot of things not going in your favor on this one, plastic window, amber lights things of that sort. Good Luck.

2001 S ... just sold for $13,500 here

Comparable miles, but not the attention to details/mods as yours.
Nice car - just a bad market. (and probably not going to get any better - see the latest home sale and job numbers). somebody say double dip ;(

Oh man $30k? For a regular 10 year old car?....

slammer 02-28-2010 06:49 PM

Yeah, Amen to that guys. So far I've got a $20,000 offer if I purchase the guy's $43,000 boat! I've also got an $18,700 offer from a guy that looked at it and a whole bunch of knuckleheads out there wanting to trade their V-dubs and such. Yeah market is terrible for sure, but I was hoping it would carry over to the ski boat world. I don't think those guys heard yet! No one wants to deal on a boat! What gives?

Thing is... I still love it too much. Looks like cash for a boat and just keep the Boxster.

Seriously though, can you find an absolutely clean car of this caliber with all the extras (that cost so damn much) for the price? If so, I wish it was like that back when I bought it, huh?

Problem is, in this market, you can even buy a 2-yr newer than yours 911 convertible for less than $30k (a car that probably sold for close to $100k, and is also in your general location). And this 02 model has a factory glass rear window. Granted it has a bit more miles than yours does, but this is how low the market has gone unfortunately (or fortunately, if you are a buyer).
