Wow, I haven't posted in quite some time but I'll have to on this one. Bill, I understand your pain. I actually have an 03' triple black (bought used) that was custom ordered and assembled in Stuttgart, DE. 91% of boxsters are assembled in Finland. I you know by the double "S" and not the "U" on the VIN engine plating and tags. My friend works at porsche Zentrum Munchen (Munich), DE and he know about how die Deutsche Leuten are furious about buying a boxster in Germany and finding out later it was assembled in Finland. It's a snobby German thing. Almost as bad as buying a Mexican assembled Golf.
I'm not going to say that Stuttgart boxsters are better built, but there are some parts that are not the same as Finland assembled ones. Trust me, I had to get an extended warranty from Porsche on this car and these boxsters have their own warranty coverage as oppose to the Finland built ones (about $600 more because they used the 98-01 911 mileage book to cover these Stuttgart built boxsters) because all bosch (non compatible Hella) parts. Hella will work, but not for some of the assembly parts such as the bi-xenon headlight (which I had to learn the hard way). They tried to plug in the Hella ballast and it wouldn't work. Porsche of Austin custom ordered the Bosche one and "Wamo!!!" magically it's turned on. Ok, this reply is too long...but hey, someone had to clarify why someone would put that "built in Germany" in his message.
PS: the "moviestarcars" email address is just plain cheesy. No wonder people are hard on you.
