AiM Solo 2 connection

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new here and to racing. Looking to get an AiM Solo 2 DL lap timer for my Spec Boxster but don't know what connection type I should be getting. Winding Road has options for three different connection types:

-CAN/K-line/external power cable OBD II connection
-CAN/RS232 external power cable
-RPM/external power cable (no ECU)

I welcome your thoughts and advice.

You want the OBDII cable

Andy, you can have my Solo Aim 1 DL (no OBDII data) if you want it. I haven't used it since I installed my full data/video system.

I can bring it to Willow Springs if you want to try it out. See you there.

Guys, thanks for the replies. Tom, Iíll get back to you about the AiM Solo I.

Iím looking to link video as well. Some data that can help with my performance would be nice but I wasnít sure if investing in a full data system now would be worth it. Thoughts?

Aim solo plus a cheap action cam like a mobius and render the data overlay with free dashware software is,what i use. I've got the DL with obdii cable so i get rpm and throttle in addition to the rest, but even with a regular aim solo you get a lot, including the predictive lap timer. Here's an example of that setup: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tprQm4Julf0
