X51, deep sump needed?

I recently purchased a 2001 Boxster S that I am autocrossing and planning on DE's. I'm planning on adding a X51 and my question is do I need to add a deeper pan? I'm looking at the Tarrett Engineering baffle and the FVD Motorsport pan that increases volume and has the baffle.

I have both items and still have pressure drops, but I'd say yes, you want the deep sump.

Oh boy, lots of debate on this topic. I just did the baffle. The general consensus is that for street+ setups the deep sump wasn’t really a requirement. Getting into a more race setup, full slicks, tuned suspension etc, oil starvation can be a potential issue. Also depends on the track you want to run.

I looked into it a couple times when some deals came up in the classified section. I have zero experience or 1st hand knowledge, but for debate on the topic, read the Brad Roberts posts in these threads:

That is great advice.

I installed this, one stop shopping:

Thanks! The LN Engineering solution looks like the best solution for me.

That's the one i have too, the LN. I had a 1.2L mantis that i was going to compare but lost my enthusiasm for the swap because the ln was working good for me, combined with a 10W50 oil (getting s hot down here in the SE...)

I've got a Tarrett baffle, was easy to install and my car hasn't died yet. No data system in my car unfortunately.

The Mantissport 2 litre pan isn’t too low for the Boxster.
