Which IMS upgrade for Spec Boxster?

I'm in the process of building a spec boxster. There are a few different options for the IMS update and I'm wondering which is the most common for the spec cars. I plan on doing the LN +2 oil baffle kit, and S oil cooler. Am I going in the right direction? I have seen some add the accusump or go with the external oil cooler. Id rather do it right the first time so any input would be very helpful. Thanks.

I ran BSX for several years. I favor the LN IMS bearing and the Porsche X51 pan. 100+ track days with no oiling issues so it seems to have worked.

^^^ What Topless said. This is pretty standard for Boxster Spec. A good alternative to the Porsche X51 is the EBS oil sump baffle (available at Pelican Parts, Tarett, etc...)

Ok. Thinking of trying the x51 and LN IMS first and see how it goes before spending an extra couple grand on the accusump and deep pan.

But which LN IMS? The Solution?

Standard LN retrofit bearing. Not the solution or the guardian.

Just FYI, this is another one of those items not covered in the rules, so technically *could* be illegal. Rules do not say that IMS bearing upgrade to a ceramic bearing is allowed.

It is normally accepted that these are allowed but you never know.

If you decided to change out sealed steel ball WHEEL bearings you would get labeled a cheater. But if you replace a steel ball IMS bearing you are considered intelligent and improving reliability. (even though wheel bearing fail more than IMS bearings)

Heck, even X-51 or EBS pans are not listed as being allowed modifications because they are not "deep sump" pans.
