Need more negative camber!

After switching to Nitto NT-01's in December and getting steadily faster - this is the result after 6 track days including two this weekend at Willow Springs Big Track (which is very hard on the left front).

Pic's are the left front - outside edge completely corded. Outer right front badly worn but not corded. Rears show more outer wear but not nearly as bad as the fronts.

Solution: GT-3 adjustable lower control arms are getting installed tomorrow and a new set of NT-01's for the front will be installed on Sat!

(Topless/Dave and Brad - you both correctly predicted this would happen once my driving improved. Good call.)

Welcome to the club Thomas. It's not really a slippery slope, it's a fall line!

And how did your times look at Streets before the tires corded?

Recent Jan, 2012, lap times:

Willow Streets: 1:31
Willow Big Track: 1:41
AutoClub Speedway: 2:01
(NT-01's on stock suspension/max stock alignment with 102,000 miles)

No class records but I'm definitely making progress! And yes, a fall line it is - my bank account is definitely falling at a rate much greater than my lap times.

And I've got to give some credit to Nitto for building a pretty strong tire as I didn't lose a single pound of pressure even with the tire corded that badly.

Did you consider RSS arms as an alternative or are the GT3s better?

I did consider the RSS LCA's but my local shop had the OEM LCA's in stock (they also knew that I would ultimately need them) and they gave me a really good deal on the hardware and threw in all of the installation labor and re-alignment for free.

Okay thanks just trying figure out which components will be the best choice for me. Nice trophy there by the way....are you going to put on -2 up front?

I'll let the shop owner decide how much camber to dial in. He knows my driving history/skill level and where I want to go from here. There are several Spec Boxsters that run out of his shop (along with a gaggle of various 911's from street cars to full 997 Cup cars) so he has a lot of experience and knowledge in track suspension setup. My guess is that it will be around -2.25 to -2.5.

Wow Thomas those are some screamin' lap times. I think we are going to have some fun next week at Fairplex. Looking forward to it.
