Stuck Keyless Entry Switch

I noticed over the weekend when I tried to unlock the car from my keyless entry that the red light coming from the key was remaining on after I pushed it. I took apart the black housing and the only way the light went out was when I disconnect the battery. I tried to gently pull the rubber tip of the micro switch but it didn't work. Is there anyway to free the stuck switch without ruining the rubber tip? Steve

In my past experience with the same problem, I changed the battery at first bcause I thought it was going bad. It worked for about 1 week, then I noticed it was not the rubber tip that is keeping it in the on position, but rather the micro switch itself is staying down once pressed. I could not fix it. I had to bring it to the dealership. Cost me a new key fob and reprograming. $220!!! Do you have 2 keys? I would just sart using your other one. After some wear and tear they seem to go bad. Keep in mind the key/remote I have is 6yrs old. The new one they gave me has a much harder casing and is more durable. Hope this helps and good luck.
