Rear Speakers - not working

my rear speakers are not working even though I adjust the fader etc. yes, absolutely no sound. i checked that the fuse (D9) for sound system is not blown. wires in the back are connected. how do i remove the radio to check the back panel??? i bought car used, so i have no history. the rear speakers look ok though with no wires broken. any idea where else i should check? thanks!

Is the harness from the radio to the rear speakers connected?

I beleive Suncoast Motorsports sells the radio removal keys,$5 or something like that.

What he said. If someone recently removed the back part of the top to get to the engine cover, then they may have disconected the rear speakers and forgot to re-conect them. Look in your owners manual. It is a connecting wire on the passenger side that connects for both speakers. Hope this helps.

Do you have a Boxster with the DSP option and the small control panel below the CD storage? If so, I found my rear speakers only work if I have DSP selected.

Mine's probably broken.....

yes, the rear speakers are connected....i plugged and unplugged myself. i might try to do a continuity test with a meter. may be there's no power going to it from the radio connector. the speakers look fine. i am thinking perhaps there is a short because the connector somehow touched water or something but the 15A fuse in the fuse panel is not blown. the radio and cd work fine.

i don't think the car comes with the digital sound package but i know it has front, door and rear speakers. I don't know if that's called the hifi system or what. i am an engine/mechanical guy...i don't know much about sound system.
