Short shifter parts

I received my B&M short shifter clone today (from a2rinc), but I'm not sure it came with everything I need. Here is what it came with, is this everything?

Sorry if it is hard to see... I didn't want to remove from the packaging if I have to send it back.

Thanks!

hi, heres a picture when i got mine, just make sure that you have 2 of each (C-clip, and blue bushing sitting next to the shifter). if you do then youre set

Yep, I got two sets, thanks for confirming!

Have fun on the install,I ended up putting a screw driver in my finger. Just make sure you do not mess with the bushings at all and you will be fine. I ended up moving the inside of one of the bushings outward and I wasn't able to properly hold the shifter in place because of that. A couple of hours later and a blood soaked paper towel and I figured out how to get it on right. I'm sure you will like the end result.

yea i got cut up too pretty good, comes w teritorry, and have something to show for being in garage for too long to whoever you have to report to hehehe.
you will love the results, the 1st day it may be a little weird, but after that you will ask yourself why it wasnt the 1st thing you have done to the car

Remeber to switch the shaft around first!

YES GOOD POINT,FLIP THE SHAFT AROUND 180 DEGREES SO THE SHIFT KNOB STANDS STRAIGHT UP AND IT'S REALLY A B & M CLONE!

Be prepared for this.

Really? Please explain. I know some people dont take out the piece that holds the cd's but it made it alot easier to get the center counsel in and out.

boggtown 02-24-2007 03:29 PM

Ya, I didnt take out the center part either. I just had to take the batwing out is all.

What he said.

djomlas 02-24-2007 07:13 PM

WOW man,
yup, just the batwing and actual center console...what you took out has nothing to do with the install, but at least now you know how to take it out ;)

ohioboxster 02-24-2007 07:16 PM

It was only 4 screws

djomlas 02-24-2007 07:22 PM

sweet, good to know.
i didnt even look at how that was held in place

Cloudsurfer 02-24-2007 10:59 PM

I just finished doing the install with the Schnell shifter- What a royal PITA! End result is fantastic, but definitly not an enjoyable little project. If only Porsche didnt use one time press fit bushings, and if only there was something better than damn snap rings! No blood though!

yea seriously when i was installing a short throw on my other car, it was like this: take shift boot off, unbolt 4 bolts, remove shifter assembly, put new one on, bolt back in place, put boot on, enjoy :)

damn porsche has to make everything complcated, but the reward is awesome so who cares ;)

Hi guys,

I'm considering the same mod on mine. Just wondering does the actual gear change require more effort (harder) with the short shifter in place or does it remain the same as a standard shifter?

thanks

steve

djomlas 02-25-2007 04:00 PM

its a little harder, and has that notchy feeling (either its in or out of gear, no inbetween kinda feeling)
the first time you try it it will be weird, but you get used to it very fast
