Failed oil separator, oxygen sensors, air flow sensors

I got stranded last week in my 2000 Boxster (65k miles). The check engine light came on, and white smoke came out of the exhaust, lots of it. I had to be towed back to the dealer. The oil separator broke, and along with it the oxygen sensors and air flow sensor had to be replaced. All in all that was close to $2k.

I'm in California. I found Section 43205 of the Calif. Health and Safety Code, which requires a 7 year/70k mi warranty for emission related parts that cost (individually) more than $300 to replace. Has anyone had any experience or even luck using this section of the code to get warranty work done on their Porsche vehicle?
