PorBoys / Joe Zeiph
110 2nd Ave South, C-7
Pacheco, CA 94553 (Concord Airport)
(510) 437-9400

Joe refreshed my 2000 3.2L Boxster S Engine which was suffering from a 5.95 degree camshaft deviation; he replaced a cracked cylinder head, intermediate shaft bearing (IMS), rear main seal (RMS), chain tensioner pads, air oil separator (AOS), clutch, engine and transmission mounts and refreshed the suspension with all new hardware, bushings, shocks and struts. Joe is a dedicated Porsche mechanic that will tackle the most difficult jobs, I highly recommend him.

Fister Sport Exhaust / Darin Fister
150 Middlefield Court, Suite G
Brentwood, California 94513
(925) 308-4370

If you are looking to upgrade your exhaust note, I highly recommend the Fister exhaust. It sounds great and they are located in our back yard. You drop off your current exhaust and they will fabricate the mods and can ceramic coat it too. The turn around is about 4-6 weeks.

I have used all of the above service providers and would highly recommend them all.

Any suggestions for a reliable mechanic/service facility in the Middletown/Monticello area of the Catskills in New York? How about Brooklyn, NY?

PowerTech in Rockaway, NJ will do a great job for you if it is "central" enough for you.

LA area Porsche mechanic recommendations?

2005 Boxster base, 47k miles.

Planning to replace clutch and IMS in the next few months.

Would like to compare a few LA area Porsche mechanics.
Price sensitive... not looking for a $6,000 job.

I vetted a few mechanics from the Coachella Valley all the way into Riverside when I needed my Tiptronic rebuilt. Sam runs his own shop... does all the work. Very nice guy.

Mechanic in Canton, GA

I've been using Precision Motors in Canton- great group of people - reasonable pricing and they've helped me thru several repairs - also fantastic with my daughter's previous Mini Cooper

Don Wise Autowerks - San Jose Bay Area , Campbell, CA

https://www.donsautowerks.com/

Indy mechanic is great but always discourages major work to the Boxster since no resale value. Gets annoying after a while so I switched to Don Wise. Don is the man and gets it. He put a lot of emphasis on the driving experience.

@Luckyman01 I replied to your other thread but just to make sure you see it.

For the Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, Washington area I strongly recommend Unlimited VW.

Back when I lived in Vancouver (up to mid 2021) I took my VW to Mike at Unlimited VW.

https://goo.gl/maps/NqKkN9MxE9hGZHNT7

Google Maps says they're closed permanently, but I'm pretty sure its a mistake because they moved locations in 2020 and I think it's a carry over from the old location. There are reviews from 3 months ago. I would call ahead of time to confirm, and if they are still open they'll probably want to know Google Maps has them listed as closed.

I had Mike and his team swap my water pump, exhaust manifold gaskets, and do some basic diagnostics. Always had an excellent experience from price to service.

It's a family owned business (Mike and his wife, can't remember her name) and I highly recommend them.

My buddy has a track prep'd 993 and has been going to them for years. They have an excellent reputation in IL. They charge about 2/3 the labor rate of the dealers & parts are comparable. Where you really save money is time - they don't drag out the billable hours like dealers often will. Here are 3 examples of service I had:

30K Service - Dealer quoted $1349. Eurosport did it for $520! (seriously)
Inner & outer CV Boots - Dealer quoted $1400. Eurosport did it for $505.
F&R Brake pads - Dealer wanted $1200. Eurosport did it for $478.

Also, they cleared a CEL for me and when I offered to pay for 1 hour labor, they said don't worry about it. They work on all Porsche's - 924, 914, 944, 968, 964, 993, 986, 997, etc. They understand that not everybody has a GT3 RS and work to accomodate everybody.
Recently picked up my 01 Boxter and had it serviced at Midwest Eurosport.

They found a few things that needed attention while recommending one to watch (prepping the area to monitor) and another that could wait. Gave very detailed info and pictures of everything.

Roy walked me around the car when I picked it up and took the time to answer my questions and give an overall appraisal of the general condition. They even scoped the pistons during my CV boot replacement and didn't charge me.

I will definitely be going back here, very happy with the price and quality of the service.
