Dps?

Okay, I'm currious. What company is this and can anyone post a link to there web site. I have to see these prices. I got a real good deal on my GT-2 front end and the shipping was fast.

Perfectlap 02-21-2007 11:18 AM

yep shipping was slow. almost three weeks if I remember correctly.
But sure enough it arrived. Brandywine and some of the other bigger Porsche Dealers ship right away but they will charge 20-30% more than DPS as these are factory polyurethane parts and not aftermarket fiberglass.
and Brandwine charges WAY more for painting, if they bother with that all.

Let just say we are paying the same price you paid for Fiberglass but we got Factory GT3 bumpers.

I found my side skirts on e-bay for only $175.00. They are same as the O.E.M. ones. Had them painted for $170.00.

That's a good deal! I don't see it sold by itself. Come with the sides for like 4K!!!

Perfectlap 02-21-2007 12:45 PM

sounds like you got the best deal on your skirting.
I passed on the factory skirting because I wanted the GT3 MK2 design that's only available aftermarket. Quality body shops in this part of the world is pricey.
Darn things cost me a $1000 painted. But well worth it, best appearance mod for the money.

Yeah I just noticed they no longer offer it seperately online. I'm sure if you were to call in you can get that deal. $4k for the Bumper Skirts and Wing is a bit much. If you bought them all seperately it would be a lot cheaper. Wonder whats up with that.

Not To Change The Original Post Subject, But....

If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the turbo front bumper, like the one on this web site. It's NOT fiberglass, it's polyurethane. It's a bit high, but you wouldn't have to worry about it breaking. It cost $1,195.00

Just wanted to add I emailed them a while ago and asked how much skirts would cost, they said 1,000 painted and delivered with all the hardware. Sounds good for oem skirts, but sadly im not a rockefeller :(

That's way to high. Maybe the cost is for the paint. Must be some dam good paint job!

porschegeorg 02-21-2007 02:19 PM

You can still buy the skirts and bumper separately. Mine finally shipped on Friday. I should get them tomorrow or Friday.

So what was your total cost?

porschegeorg 02-21-2007 03:08 PM

I got the skirts and GT3 bumper painted and shipped to Ohio for $2195

docdyh 02-21-2007 04:02 PM

all that I ordered was pocket covers. I don' t mind waiting for shipment. I just don't like being told that something will be shipped tomorrow and it is not. and that was 3 weeks ago. I would rather pay slightly higher for better customer service. I just can't believe people run a business this way. If DPS only knew that they were the subject of this thread..even worse for business.

Seems a little high to me.

986Roadster 02-22-2007 10:04 AM

porschegeorg thats a good deal. the gt3 bumper cost me $1500 painted and shipped....for another $700 you got skirts. that's around the same price i paid.

shipping cost around $175.00! this adds to the expense!

docdyh 02-22-2007 12:55 PM

Good Luck to all of you that have orders pending. After no return phone call or emails, I am having my bank reverse the charge. They have lost my business.

Perfectlap 02-22-2007 01:43 PM

Factory bumper $950-1050
Factory skirting $700-800
Painting both $ 900-1000 (NJ/NY rates)
Shipping both $200

total aprox $3,000

looks like you saved yourself the cost of painting them.
Good deal even if it took a while.
If you read the Rennlist 996 Forum you'll see DPS has had some
issues with their shipping.
