Aluminum Pedals
Well, I'm about to pull the trigger on my first ( and certainly not my last ) mod :
I have some concerns and I need some advice : 1. It looks like you screw these on to the existing rubber pedals. Is this easy to do ? Is it hard to line these up correctly ? 2. Since these are in addition to the stock rubber pedals, do they stick out a lot ? I have long legs and my seat is already as far back as it will go. Will I notice a difference with these pedals ? 3. Any advantages to do this ( other than looks, of course ) ? porsche986spyder, thanks for finding this for me ! Any help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance ! Nick |
If your gonna drop that much on pedals go ahead and buy RUF pedals. There is a group buy on caymanclub.net (or at least there was).

or ultimatepedals.com, no affiliation...not sure if they're still a sponsor.
You can check out the thread here for picture of the pedal. http://986forum.com/forums/show-tell-gallery/5352-techart-seatback-pedals-strut-brace.html |
I paid 69 bucks for my pedals and they look nice. I took the rubber off the pedals before I put the new ones on. Its not real hard, if you can hold a drill then you can install them. The hardest part for me was getting under the dash and Im a little fella.

see now THAT looks nice
good job installing them buddy, where did u pick those up from? |
I have the same set (say Porsche in small lettering) paid $100 delivered for them on Ebay. I posted a thread about it way back. Guess what? Still sitting in the closet. No drill or drill bit to go through metal for the brake. The hardware supplied was also not good.
Don't spend allot of money on pedals, they will only get scuffed up. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for those aftermarket sets. |

Yes. I like those too. And you took the original rubber off? Was that your choice or did the instructions suggest this? |
