Want to add an extra glove box...

I noticed that the later model boxters somewhere around 02-04 Porsche added an extra glovebox under the front dash on the passenger side. Mine is a 02 model with only the rear and center console. Has ANYONE tried to replace that area under the earlier models with the more current version to give themself the new updated glove box? Would it even work? The area lookks the same except for the entire bottom right side. If so, how hard is it to do or would it be to find and install? Any help and info would be great.

It's a direct replacement, but the dashboard is all one part so you need to replace the whole thing.

Well that sucks. Are you sure that one section at the bottom can't be replaced and keep the rest?

Yes, I'm sure.

There are a number of Porsche recycling places that will sell you the whole dashboard and glove box. They show up on ebay every now and then too.

We both missed it by a year, the glovebox came in with the 03's.

holly crap that will be a lot of work to get an extra little bit of space to keep unnecessary stuff in ur car.

It is not that much work actually. I had my dash out last spring, I looked for an 03 dash at that time, but could not find one.

looking for options...

Anyone know if the dash from a 996 would fit?
