Tire Pressure Monitors
I'm intrigued by these to protect against tire damage that's not easily found lke a nail causing a slow leak. $25 seems like a good price but don't these look really big next to that penny? My Porsche dealer gave me a free pair of the silver valve caps with the Porsche crest that I ended up taking off because they look so big.

Hi,
Which ones are you talking about? Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
1JB, I think you meant to attach a pic, but from your description the monitors in question are integrated with the valve caps?
I have Porsche TPMS and consider it the best option on my car. You're exactly right about the slow leak scenario as I picked up three such nails over a two month period, which was as annoying as you'd imagine. I would not have known if it wasn't for TPMS, particularly in that I run rubber-band thin 19s on the Carrera S wheel that always look "flat". More valuable still when you consider that our cars don't come with a spare, a consideration that is never far away in my mind and probably the same for other owners. |

I check tire pressure every other weekend, but these air alert value caps might help. They look much better than others. I'm very interested, but concerned about size issue too. Anyone has them?
BTW, Thanks for the link |
Doesn't say at what pressure they alarm at... I've seen cheaper plastic ones that come in a variety of tire pressure alarmpoints. It would be nice to find a set that have adjustable alarm points.

Hi,
They actually look pretty good, simple, fairly accurate technology. A couple of concerns:
