Stories like this one consistently amaze me.

"An American car collector came across car parts in a scrap heap in Ukraine and took them back to England..."

How does an American car collector just happen to be rummaging through a scrap heap in the friggin' Ukraine of all places and stumble upon one of the more important automobiles in history? Whenever I rummage through a scrap heap I come up empty handed, get stung by Hornets and step in dog ****************.

I remember a story out of Barrett-Jackson a few years ago, and don't quote me on the precise details, but an American collector located a one-off French, pre-war Delage or Delahaye or something in a shed in Europe and had it shipped back to the States. Some years later, he found the engine, the correct engine for that very car, in a chicken coop in South America! How does this happen??? Most of the time I can't find the parts to my own car in my own garage!

Great story. Thanks for sharing it.

You might have problems in your own garage, but I know you found this! ;)
