When it's cold

When it's cold i start my car the temp gauge blinks neat i think it's the 250 mark in red. The annoying part is i let it warm up then it stills stays on ... I have to shut the car then re-start it and it doesn't come back until the next time I start it or another cold day or if i let the car sit enough time where it gets cold again.

Owners manual says that the warning light can flash if the coolant level is low or a fault is detected with the engine compartment cooling fan.

thank you.. i am going to bring it in to have the radiator flushed and put new antifreeze in. Cheaper to do it now rather then later when my radiator explodes LOL

Hi,

Lift the trunk floor and check for coolant to insure that the coolant reservoir isn't cracked. Also, make sure that the low coolant level sensor's electrical connector is properly seated...

Hi,

The Blue Cap is your Coolant Cap. There is also a window for viewing the coolant level. This s/b between the MIN and MAX lines when the engine is COLD.

But, this reservoir is known to crack and leak. When this happens, coolant often collects in the Trunk Floor. The only way to see it is to remove the False Floor or lining. Under that, there is a plywoodbase, you want to lift that base and look for coolant. If found, you need to replace the coolant reservoir...

Hi,

Many have DIY'd it (and expanded their vocabulary in the process), but the access is limited and it's marginally complex. I'd rate it a 6 or 7 in difficulty. But, if you are experienced, and patient, it's easily doable, and you save a bundle...
