Your newish MB does 0-60 in the high 4's, right? Is it ultra quiet and smooth like my Lexus LS400, or can you actually hear and feel it when you nail it?

blkboxster 01-14-2007 01:06 PM

Its really smooth,it isnt quiet but not boxster loud,Mercedes says it hits 62 in 4.6,but ive read some reviews and heard it hit 62 in 4.4.I cannot wait to take it to the drag strip :)

congrats man.
thats one big car tho

unklekraker 01-14-2007 01:42 PM

congrats! i know my benz are no comparo to yours but on a highway drive, i'll pick my C230K in a heartbeat but on twisties or side streets...hands down..Boxster all the way :)

I guess the V12 engine under the hood will compensate for a whole lot of car :D

its the weirdest thing ever switching cars tho, i drove my GFs c320 yesterday, looked back to reverse, and it seemed like there is neverending srech of space behind me and all these seats alllll the way out there....hehehe. i got so used to turning back and rightaway all you see is the window :)

I had looked at that model and the 2003 and newer SLs prior to my boxter purchase but could not justify spending the extra cash at the time....Great car...best of luck with it!

You do spend alot but you get soo much for your money hand stiched leather suede every where adjustable back seats and one of the best engines.

You want space...Porsche for some assinine reason rented me a Chrysler 300 when I had warranty repairs last year. I basically parked in fire zones the time I had it, heaven forbid I try to back up without hitting East Los Angeles. If they had simply loaned me a 911 Turbo I could have been spared this annoyance...

My dad has an 03 SL500.

It's a nice car. Very beautiful, and has some very nice convenience features.

However, when going over bumpy roads, you hear all this plastic and crap clattering...makes me wonder wtf the car is MADE out of.

This particular one has had problems, so he wants to trade it in for an 07 SL, but I keep telling him 911 S cab. Much better car if you ask me, but also much different car.

Besides, everyone here has a damn SL.
