Race By Design is Open 1/13/07

Hello everyone,

Race By Design is officially open and I am adding parts to the site constantly.

Our main focus is the world of autocross and track racing (no street racing). We assume that some people will have stripped out race vehicles that show up on trailers to the track, but most have to drive to work Monday through Friday with their race vehicle.

We are currently promoting the following models as they have a serious presence in the world of motorsports (with many more to come eventually):

*Boxster, Boxster S, and Cayman S (Go Porsche! )
*Focus, Focus SVT, Focus ST
*Cooper and Cooper S
*Miata, Mazdaspeed Miata, and the new MX-5
*WRX and STi
*RSX and RSX Type S
*S2000

We are never closed minded to helping advise other vehicle owners as we have an extremely broad basis of information and parts available to us. We have had fun in the past autocrossing imports, drag racing muscle cars, and track racing supercharged mustangs:

Currently in our project car garage:

*2000 MR2 Spyder with suspension and engine upgrades.

*2006 Altima SER 6-Speed that will show up at the 2007 National Autocross competing in G-Stock (and probably being destroyed by the Mini's, lol).

*2002 Focus SVT (Jackson Supercharger and suspension mods) that sees local autocross and track duty.

We are official sponsors of 986Forum.com and have submitted a banner that will appear shortly.

If anyone needs general questions answered, wants to shoot us pictures of their newly modded Porsche, or need pricing on parts please give us a call or email us. We are always glad to help if possible and excited to hear updates in your own motorsports lives.

Cheers,

Blake Erven

Not to be "picky" but you spelt Boxster wrong on your website.

Travis,

Thank you so much. The storefront is done by me and the website was done by a webteam (not really car enthusiasts). I had mentioned many times the proper spelling of "Boxster" and apparently it went right over their heads.

That is terribly embarassing. Many thanks and double apologies!

Yes we do. We work with all Integra's as well.

We sell parts for nearly every make and model. At the moment we are aiding the build of a 1989 240SX (SR20DET swap) that will be a daily driven track machine.

The only reason we haven't listed more models is simply trying to keep our market share/target audience focused and deep rather than scattered or shallow. While our history and knowledge is pretty extensive we want to have a pinned out direct answer when customers call or email.

The models we have chosen to focus are all very competitive on the track in their own classes and represent the USA, Germany, and Japan.

Expect many more models to appear with our second web revision. :)
We want to eventually list parts for customers with everything from the Toyota Yaris to 911's and Corvettes.

If you have a vague goal or want a specific part we can get it at a fair price and offer some information regardless of the vehicle.

The turbo kit concept has been put on hold for a few reasons:

The manufacturer we were going to use to help with production of the kits has become less attentive to details and our goals. Our goal of reliable and emission friendly in 49 states quickly turned to: "kinda reliable and no cats at all". This is when we decided to work with them on a Rotrex supercharger kit utilizing the same water-to-air intercooler. Last time we talked they were waiting for Rotrex to get back to them on compressor maps, three months ago or so...

My business partners and I have been reluctant to put R&D costs into something without a responsive partner. However, once things get underway with RbD we will actively seek out a partner with more experience and a credible reputation.

For example: Oscar Jackson and Oscar Jackson Jr. of Jackson Racing have recently developed a mix of Rotrex powered supercharger kits for the Miata and Honda Fit. With their reputation for excellance and OEM quality/reliability we will likely seek them out.

Thank you for your patience. Our own mouths are watering as well and we really do want to see some boosted Boxster's. It will happen but it will be done correctly first and foremost!

Cheers,

Just changed email address: racebydesign@yahoo.com

Now "Boxster" is spelled right everywhere, lol.

Next up: opposable thumbs and walking upright. We are very excited about this one.
