Rim Repair

Is there an easy way to cosmetically fix curb rash on rims? Deep curb rash?

Hi,

Cosmetics isn't the only thing you should worry about, especially for Deep Curb Rash. The wheel can be cracked, out-of-round and/or unbalanced due to the loss of material. This can cause high speed shimmying, accelerated tire and suspension wear.

Light Rash can be fixed on a painted rim using a high metal content epoxy, sanding it and repainting the rim.

For anything else, it's best to have the wheel commercially repaired. This is usually about half of the cost of a new wheel, but the job's done right. There are a number of places which do the work, and probably one near you. Try: http://www.specwheelsdenver.com/index.html , though they aren't the only ones. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
