That's usually methane you're burning, not nitrogen. ;)

You could always go the ultra- performance route and fill your tires with Helium to reduce your unsprung weight. ;) ;)

Cassidy tire charges about $25 in the Chicago area. There is a $5 off coupon in the sports section of the Tribune monthly. Refills and adjustments are free. They only need to "raise" the car on the first visit to properly do the "flush".

FYI- Costco only fills with Nitrogen on new tires purchased there.

bmus,

Can you provide more information regarding Cassidy Tires ?

Where are they located ?

How long did it take ?

Do you need to make an appointment ?

Anyone in particular to ask for ?

Thanks,

Nick

Hey Nick:

Use the "store locator" function here:

http://www.cassidytire.com/

I go to the one in Arlington Heights. It's about 1/2 mile from my home. The guy there, PJ, is a good guy. I made an appointment (in March), so I would not have to wait too long.

In late October, I just went over there for the "winter storage over-fill" to 58-60 PSI. They just extended the hose line out to the parking lot, and I was done in 5 minutes and gave the worker a $20 tip.

bmus,

Thanks for the info ! I’ll give it a shot ;)

I bought my boxster used and I saw a sticker where the oil change stickers are usually located. It was from Costco and apparently there is a 3-month service for the nitrogen-filled tires. Apparently the last guy bought the tires at Costco and they will always fill them and rotate them for free. The only problem is that I dont have the Costco receipt so I will not be able to get them serviced for free.

Anyone have an idea of how I can scheme free rotations and fills without the reciept or original costco card? I do have that originial service sticker still on there.

Hi,

And for those of you who cannot waste enough excess Moulah filling your tires with Nitrogen...

Get your next Bling fix by installing a set of 24-carat Gold Plated Springs from H & R. These will only set you back some $2500, but at least they don't need to be refilled.

H & R sold it's 1st set of these Springs to the owner of a Ferrari F430 in Dubai. They're available for a number of applications from Ferrari, BMW (7-series only), and Porsche, including the Boxster...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
