Very nice! By the way, where'd you get that sticker of the porsche crest on your windscreen? I like that a lot! I may want to put that one on mine. thanks!

bmussatti 12-31-2006 04:47 PM

Bumper looks good, but the gap above the clear side marker looks big. Can you "tighten" it up any?

Jeph 12-31-2006 05:34 PM

What inspired you to do the bumper? Do you think it needs side skirts now (+1 PerfectLap)?

Before you do side skirts (if that's in the plans), your car is screamin' for wheel spacers! It's cheaper than skirts and you'd be amazed at the difference this subtle change can make. Do it, do it!

kenkamm 12-31-2006 06:08 PM

Looks nice but the GT3 bumper looks too "heavy" without the side skirts IMO. Also those Carrera lightweight wheels have a "light" look to them. Some Turbo II style wheels might match better because they have a wider spoke, heavier look.

pecivil 12-31-2006 06:27 PM

on the sticker, I assume you mean the porsche one in the center, I got that from ebay. It looks great, It has that "etched glass" look to it.

on the bumper I know it does make the front look heavy, I really like the GT-3 look, but I do think side skirts will be necessary to fill the look out more....I didn't really want them, but it does not look finished.

on the wheels, I really, really like the lt. wts look. You can really see the S calipers thru them, they are light, and I like simple wheels.

BTW I have a set of "turbo look" wheels (the original stock wheels) if anybodyis looking for some wheels. They are straight, but do have some rash.

Aww, you beat me to the punch. Mine will be done next week though. I did get sideskirts though, I think they are neccesary personally. They only cost me 300 shipped so I couldnt pass it up. Very nice, where did you get the mesh for the openings, just the hardware store or something fancy?

pecivil 12-31-2006 09:32 PM

hardware store....very cheepo.

I was looking at my McMaster catalog tho and there is some really nice stainless 1/4" grid steel mesh that would look great as a radiator opening mesh......

think the front grill of the "R" type Jags...

djomlas 12-31-2006 11:23 PM

ooo very nice, side skirts would really complete the look

TriGem2k 01-01-2007 12:59 AM

Skirts make everything look right. It gives it a more complete look. Then lastly you can and the 2003-2004 rear bumper/bumperette delete.

check mine out....

docdyh 01-01-2007 10:08 AM

what about the rear wing. how come no one completes the aerokit??

Personally - don't like the look of the rear wing. Just my preference. But, I found this guy's website on an older thread here - he has the full meal deal if you wanted to see it.

This site may pain you a bit - lots of picts when he wrecked it too.....

TriGem,

very nice looking boxster man. I must get the skirts. I am another who does not like the rear wing. For some reason, it looks ricey to me, kinda of screaming "boy racer", like a WRX STi or an original E30 M3.

I have to agree. Your ride is smokin'. I told my wife that I wanted to get some mods done - got nothing but a roll of the eyes. Showed her your pic, and how the GT3 bumper w/ skirts look, and she is all over it now.

Can't thank you enough!

djomlas 01-01-2007 11:49 PM

yea, its really funny how no one wants that bench looking wing on their car, and i can see why too.
all you really need is a bumper and side skirts

docdyh 01-02-2007 05:23 PM

i think it looks "top heavy" without the wing, but personal preference I guess. Porsche wont put the GT3 bumper on without the wing..I wonder if it really makes a difference aerodynamically.

boggtown 01-02-2007 08:39 PM

Im sure it does make a difference. Ive heard of a fellow who put splitters on his front bumper to give it more downforce, and his tail would get light when he went around corners going really fast. This is the only reason id consider getting the rear wing that looks like this... http://www.avogl.com/images/Boxster/Wing-020916-012.jpg

I like that one the best out fo anything ive seen because its not like a triangle wedge on the back but lets air underneath it and is thinner. Now if only I could find it online...

djomlas 01-02-2007 09:16 PM

you know, from some angle thta spoiler looks OK, bu from some it looks like something that you would put on a civic. i dunno.
i mean usually kids that put those ona civic it doesnt do anything since its a FWD car, but this one does actually do something beneficial, but still....just weird coming out of a trunk like that?!
but otherwise, thats one of my fav boxsters around

This is true but when speaking with the dealer I found out that you can have ONE of the two. Either the stock spoiler or the Aero Wing. I personally like the sleekness without it.

Perfectlap 01-03-2007 06:15 AM

yeah the pedestal spoiler the factory came up with totally clashes with the lines of the car. The lines and proportions are all wrong.

This one for the Cayman would work much better. But Spoilers on convertibles and roadsters always looks 50/50.
