Front Oil Leak - Reman M96.23 Engine

Hey Folks,

I rebuilt the M96.23 Boxster 2004 engine (in Dealer) around 1 year now (10.000 km) and after a spirited driving yesterday i saw oil drops on the left side the next day. I removed the plastic panels underneath and took some photos.

1. Belt, Crank pulley and the area of pulleys is clean.
2. It seems its coming from the oil pump in the front of the engine. Not quite sure.
3. Both oil pumps are new.
4. I estimate the oil loss to be around 200ml but not sure if it all happened yesterday or has been happening for few days/weeks.

New AOS a month ago ( unfortunately Rosepassion sent me a !@$& aftermarket one) so i doubt it can be the aos.

Not sure where to start now and i dont want to get back to the dealer again...

THANKS as always..

Clean the area with the oil on them, top up your oil and add an oil compatible UV dye (Uview and others make it, can be found on Amazon), then run the car for a couple of hours. A black light source will then be able pinpoint the source of the leak.

That leak definitely does not appear to be new... Clean area thoroughly, take a picture of it spiffy. Fill it up and let it run (hopefully w dye) w minimal if any driving and diagnose from there.

Good luck!
