Can anyone confirm that this is a direct bolt in for the 2001 base model year? I have seen different things saying that different adapters and in line valves are required but I believe these are for PSM cars only? If I have no PSM then it’s a direct swap?
It does not work as a direct swap, as one connection is M12x1 and the other M10x1 on the BMC of a 986/996. On the 997, both connections are M12x1, but there are adapters for this.
Edit: 996 355 910 40 is genuine
And ok thanks for that info. Do you have a traction control car? I’ve seen some info saying that cars without traction control of my model year may have both m12 connections.
If you check the spare part catalogue there is no difference for the number of the BMC that MY. M476 = PSM. Have a look at your BMC, it should be obvious.
What do you want to achive withe the bigger BMC? Porsche brakes need more force from the foot, this is a feature to be able to control braking power. Provided you have the correct disc/brake pad conforguration...
