Mice problems
So my 99 boxster base runs like ****************. Battery was drained. Took it out along with the tray and noticed a ton of acorns and peanut shells. Even better, three wires are totally severed. I'd show a Pic, but no pics allowed. They are brown, red and blue. Any idea what the go to? Looks like some sensor.

Those critters love the soy based wire insulation that was used back then...and perhaps still is used, don't know.
Find a different spot to park, use rodent poison, noise making repellents or use traps.....other than that I can't think of anything else that MIGHT work....sorry. Also make sure there are no other food sources where you park....food garbage cans, bird seed, plant material.....one other suggestion is to buy a good number of cheap wooden "old fashioned" spring mouse traps and a dab of peanut butter as bait. It won't solve your complete problem BUT will indicate if you have a big mouse/rat infestation that might need professional attention. |
Looks like they chewed up the crankshaft position sensor

Cayenne pepper. I don't know what you would put in in... seal it up... maybe the end of some nylons (ladies) maybe a coffee filter?
Wife had mice chewing her insulation on top of her g80's motor... under the plastic engine cover... sprinkled the pepper on top of the engine... put cover back on... no mice in the two years since, and I didn't add new pepper. My recommendation: cayenne pepper. |
