Speaker Rattle

My left dash speaker has a rattle at certain (usually louder/bassier) sounds. I have switched out everything in the audio system and its still there. Interestingly, if I hold the speaker in its enclosure up at all out of the dash, it doesn't rattle at all, but as soon as I set it down in the dash it rattles. I have tried looking in there but nothing is obviously loose.

Has anyone else experienced/solved this?

It’s a 2001 manual with the standard interior. Not sure what other details would be of note in this situation? More than happy to answer any questions if it helps me solve this though lol.

Years ago, mine (98 w/standard interior) did much the same thing. I simply added some foam packing material under the speaker's magnet (ie:the center) that stopped the vibration without changing the speakers sound.

I forgot to mention that I also replaced the original speakers with similar because the originals had fallen apart. (Paper was torn, ripped and some missing sections...honestly amazed that they made a sound at all....LOL)

Hey yeah no it’s not the original speaker but the original speakers did the same thing. And yeah mine were intact but just blown haha. I haven’t tried the foam yet but I’ll need to give it a shot thanks
