Hard top Center latch is broken.

Can this be fixed or do I need a new latch?

If I need a new one any good sources?

Thanks guys

I don't think that could be fixed. I would recommend replacing it.

Here is the part number 996 563 401 00

There are plenty of places online selling it.
This is the best price I've found so far.

That is the best price I have found and its new.

Do you know how that front trim piece comes off on the hard top? The one that goes from drivers side to passenger side?
I think that has to come off to get to the latch.

Thanks

I believe you have to remove the both the left and right side interior trim pieces first. Then you should be able to remove the center trim piece covering the latch.

Here is a diagram of full disassembly of the hardtop.
You should only have to remove the 3 inner trim pieces to access the latch.

This is what the back of inner trim piece looks like so you know where the clips are

Oh wow....Very nice.
Luckily my friend was able to remove the latch without removing the trim pieces and he is going to try to repair the latch.
Hopefully that works.
Thanks so much.
