conv top red plastic ballsocket
 
am getting rear window fixed and found red ball socket on driver side broke. is there a replacement piece that is stronger? i have looked at pelican/others with no luck. i was sure at 1 time last year I saw an alum replacement? any help greatly appreciated.

The joint is now made out of white plastic. There is an aftermarket metal joint. Jeff

Does anyone know the best way to get them off without bending the arm

I use a door panel removal tool - just because I happen to have one. You can also use the pry bar in the tool kit. Your owners manual shows how to do it.

thankyou toolpants,automon I have done a little more exploring It kind of sounds like plastic might be the way to go heard horror story about nuked parts due to ball socket not giving. thank you so much for all the pictires and info. MCD
