Wiper replacement

Hello, I'm new to the 986Forum and am reaching out about wiper blade replacement.

I did a search and didn't see anything similar, so thought to ask in advance of contacting my local Porsche dealer.

I'd like to just snap in a new blade, but I'm having trouble identifying the correct replacement.

My 986 has had multiple owners and I checked an old service invoice for work done and it references two parts codes (below) used when the wipers were previously replaced, but nothing that pops up looks like mine when I search those parts:

1) 996-628-901-01
2) 996-628-901-02

I've attached a photo of the left wiper, which looks identical in design to the right wiper.

To remove the blade, you push down on the two flat tabs and it pops loose. I've never seen this configuration before and visited two parts stores this weekend, who were mystified.

There's a video on YouTube demonstrating wiper replacement on a 986 and the design in the video seems to show one tab to click, not the two tab setup like mine.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer in finding these.

It is Bosch 582S - Wiper Twin - Length: 550/530 mm Set for front screen. The passenger side is bent in a banana shape -- and that is correct.

Thanks, that appears to be a a hook and latch set up?

Mine is a dual-tab click latch.

But please let me know what you think.

But your wiper arm looks original, you just have to take off the old stuff, then you can mount the new one ...

Agree w 997_986...

wiper arm is original but blade installed looks like some aftermarket "better mousetrap" solution. Just grab a pair of Hella or Bosch etc at Rockauto or like and they will use the standard hook w/ latch set-up and look OEM w/o some bulky adapter.

Good luck :)

Thanks, all. I had previously been to my local parts shop, who asked me to bring the car and everything in. Went yesterday and turns out that the Trico 90-220 wipers are exactly what's needed. Comes with two attachment types which, when popped off, match my wiper latch type exactly.
