02 Softtop on a 99

Hey all,

yesterday I put the softtop from an 02 car in my 99.

Replacing is pretty much straight forward and went without any hassle.
But my old softtop had the B-Pillar microswitch, the new one does not...
I already replaced the roof transmission on the driverside with one from 02, but where can I get the cable to connect to the transmission?

Is there a kit being sold somewhere to just replace the B-Pillar microswitch with a longer cable to connect to the transmission?

Also do I need to replace the softtop motor cover? Mine being a 99 has a microswitch in it, newer ones dont. I will probably also need to replace the relay, but I firstly need to know how to Connect the microswitch to the transmission.

Grateful for any advice on how to tackle this "issue"

I don't know if it couldn't be solved quite simply by replacing the old with a new relay, because as long as your control expects the switches, you have to supply them. A new relay would probably not have all that. But this is only a suggestion and a very long shot ...

The relais from MY 00 onwards is 986 618 199 00 and sits above the fusebox ...
