2.5 muffler on a 3.2?
 

Hi all, new member here looking for some input.

I know the mounting points are different for the early 2.5 mufflers and later 2.7/3.2 cars but the actual mufflers are more or less identical otherwise.

I picked up this PSE/Fister knockoff muffler off a local 2.5 car and will be trying to mount it up to my 2000 S. I presume the brackets on top will need to be cut off and new brackets welded on but if anyone has additional input or advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
