Coolant Leak (I Think)

Guy's -

Would appreciant a Christmas present in the form of advice/Boxster education.

I had gone for a nice long drive last weekend (a little spirited, but not by much) and when stopping for gas on the way home I had noticed the smell of antifreeze; I took a look at my cooland level and it was down from max but not by much and I did not notice any leak. But did notice I had the older coolant cap so I ordered one and replaced and topped off coolant.

Now today I drove it for the first time since I replaced the cap & topped off coolant and it drove fine (neither time did the temp guage ever go much over 180 or any lights) and when I pulled back into my garage I notice the antifreeze smell again and this time seen maybe a cup or so leak out, I took a photo of it and it looks like a drain line?? Coolant still shows level at max.

Question: Did I over fill with distilled water and when the presure went up it drained out?
