AT in engine number
I have a 2002 Boxster (Base) and the engine serial number has AT in it. Actual number is:
M96/22AT65265202. I read several posts in this forum that indicated the AT means it was a porsche rebuilt engine. Is that indeed true? I am asking because I am trying to understand when/if it has the newer IMS bearings. |
AT indicates that it is a factory rebuilt engine. Which IMS bearing is in it depends upon WHEN it was rebuilt.

JFt
JFT many thanks for confirmation. Is there any way to determine when the engine was rebuilt/replaced? I went to a Prosche dealer nearby and they were really useless.
