6a 'maintainer' - that's a lot.

My 3A BTJr maintainer is more than enough to handle even dual batteries on my boat.

Here's a quick suggestion... try that same maintainer and set-up as-is overnight on another vehicle and see what happens?

Good luck

Thanks Burg. I tried on other car Lead battery land works fine.
Curious, can I use a charger that says 6A charge/3A maintain but splice in a connector so I can go through cigarette lighter? The one I have adapts to lead or AGM.
Thanks.

Glad your issue is resolved.

Yes, you can splice in a cigarette lighter connector; thought you already had one? From what I found on quick search is your maintainer has standard SAE plug connector. I would keep that in tact and just buy the accessory(ies) you want. They are readily available on that a-mazon site - along w extensions).

That said, I know cigarette light port is convenient but understand this just introduces a potential fail point (i.e. fuse issue you experienced). Why not just use eyelets on battery terminals connections w a nice SAE plug pigtail? Then you're directly connected and likely leave hood just so slightly ajar. That site also sells many number SAE to SAE extensions in various lengths should you need...

Good luck
